GLORIA KHAVUYA

SOCIAL WORKER

Gloria started as an intern for Kenya Rising in early-2019, and today is a full-time social worker conducting home visits where she offers advice, counseling, and support to needy families. She holds a Bachelors in Social Work and Community Development from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, and she did computer training at Mt Kenya University. Her previous work experience includes a position as Assistant Program Officer for a child and maternal health program run by Kakamega County (“Oparanya Care”). She has also worked in data collection for Infotrack Research Company, and she has worked to assist the program officers at Sustainable Community Opportunities for Restoration and Empowerment (SCORE). Gloria speaks English, Swahili, and Luhya, and outside of work she enjoys making new friends and reading.
