Godfrey, often called Mrefu (“tall man”), has worked for Kenya Rising since 2006, making him one of the longest-serving staff members. He was originally the head cook and housefather for children in residence, but he is now working in the social work department with a focus on assisting families to renovate or improve homes through the Healthy Homes collaboration. Godfrey is nearly finished with a Certificate in Social Work and Community Development, studying at Sigalagala National Polytechnic in Kakamega Town. He attended Shikokho Secondary School and speaks English, Swahili, and Luhya. In his free time Godfrey enjoys listening to reggae music, dancing, and being a king & helpful person to everyone around him.
